Mr. Colin Allen, WFD President's Visit to the ENAD

Mr. Colin Allen, the president of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) visited the ENAD on 26 March 2015. Although Dr. Liisa Kauppinen has been to Ethiopia after serving the WFD as vice-president and general secretary, Mr. Allen is the first WFD president to visit Ethiopia while still in office.

During his visit, he held discussions with the Executive Committee of the ENAD. Also in attendance, at the invitation of the ENAD Executive Committee were, one of the founders of the ENAD, a former chairman of the ENAD, the president of the Federation on National Associations of Persons with Disability (FENAPD), who was from the ENAD at the time and other members.
Mr. Allen has also met with members of the Ethiopian deaf community at large during his stay.
During his visit to the ENAD, Mr. Allen was also accompanied by Ms. Debby Iyute from Uganda. She served in the WFD Bureau from 2007 to 2011.
